Workforce Development

As parents, recognizing opportunities for children to succeed in their lives is a primary goal. Does your child have an interest in the environment? Are they inquisitive? Do they wonder why things are done “that way?" Are they interested in recycling, reducing global warming and renewable technologies such as solar, wind and water? Do they like cars, computers, and media games?

Everyday 10,000 Baby Boomers turn 55-years old. For every two experienced workers leaving the workforce, one will enter. By 2010, American businesses will face a labor shortage of more than 10 million workers.*

Energy resources, uses, supplies, and technologies are all encompassing and combine a wide variety of interests and talents. Working in energy can mean working for utilities, for gas and oil companies, for government and research groups, for energy education or environmental regulation agencies, for nonprofit energy awareness and conservation organizations, or for many other energy related agencies. The energy industry will have numerous employee needs from engineers to maintenance and repair workers.

Your children can be a solution to the anticipated workforce challenges. Why not plug into their interests and have them Think! Energy for their future?
