The Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Program is proud to sponsor this Initiative across the service territory. The Student Energy Education Kit Initiative is offered to 5th grade classrooms in qualified communities.

The goal of this Initiative is to help students and families learn ways to use energy and water more efficiently at home, at school and in the community.  When teachers enroll their students in the Initiative, program staff will arrange an interactive presentation at your school.  Teachers will receive energy-related classroom resources for further learning and students will take home a backpack full of energy-efficient products designed to save money and energy in their homes.  Families will receive additional resources to help complete the learning cycle at home, started at school.

The Initiative addresses natural resources, energy basics and energy efficiency. Throughout this website, teachers, students and their families will find resources that help save energy, water and money, while reinforcing valuable concepts in your student or child's curriculum. Initiative materials are correlated to the Illinois Learning standards, STEM and Next Generation Science Standards.
